Natalie Smith Design
I work with clients to create functional, thoughtful websites that are also aesthetically pleasing and showcase the client's product, service, or information. I can take an already existing site to the next level or build a site from the ground up using the client's choice of building/hosting services. After the site is just as it should be, I can turn over maintenance of the site to the client or provide ongoing maintenance. I can also create press kits and one-pages for band promotion. Let's work together!
The PG Show
I created this website from scratch using a brand kit by Calor Creative. I wanted to keep the design simple and fun with a homepage flow design and minimal menu links. The EPK was a new adventure. This was my first press kit, and I'm excited to make more to help musicians spread the word about their craft.
Bichos Vivos
This website was already started and had been worked on by several band members. I upgraded the overall look of the site using colors and fonts previously chosen by the client. I also changed the layout of the Media page, adding promo pictures and creating a one-sheet for the band.
One-sheet
HEART Music
I created this website from scratch when forming this organization. It has evolved over time to include many kinds of information including a section for the newly created youth symphony. The biggest challenge with this site has been making information clear and easy to find. I did this by carefully curating the menu.
Julie Phillips
Bodywork
Julie did a wonderful job starting this site, but she needed help finishing it. I reorganized the placement of information on the site to be more easily accessible and used her color palette to create unity throughout the site. I created a registration form for her and an obvious place for her clients to find it. Julie now maintains the site herself, altering information as needed using the template we came up with together.
Jordan Music 1
This site was built for a client from scratch after an in-depth conversation about his goals and needs. It is an evolving site that I maintain at the client's request. The logo was already created, and I used elements from the logo to make design decisions for the rest of the site.
Big Sauty
This was an interesting assignment. The client wanted to use the Shopify platform to create a website for his funk band. There were some hurdles in design and integration of third party providers, for example using the Bandsintown calendar widget, that required me to edit the raw code of the site. I find challenges like this fun, exciting and satisfying when solved! The client already had the main image and font picked out. I pulled colors from the picture to create the color palette for the site.
